I found my way to the Verdugo Park in Glendale tonight where I spent 1.5 hrs skating all the things. I worked on fa carves in the kidney bowl, slash grinds on the vert quarter pipes, and faster carves on the square corner bowls.
I was pretty beat to start with, so I don’t think I pushed myself as much as I could have.
I did notice that pointing my front foot gives me more control over grinds, especially when I approach at an angle.
Skated Payson for a good hour, working the bowl fast and pinning down shallow 50-50s.
Coming back from a 3 day trip to Boston, I had to get a quick, 30min session in at Sojo on the way home. I worked the bowl with a couple guys who were grinding the pool coping like men half my age (I’m sure they were).
I made the mistake of skating after a full day of moving furniture and spring cleaning.
I took three slams in a row on the mini and called it. I may have fractured something.
Skated the Springville mini for about an hour working on longer grinds. That’s all.
Spring has brought beautiful, cool, breezy afternoons–and pleasant lunchtime sessions at the Sandy skatepark. I worked on a general flow for the park and weak sauce smiths on one of the quarters.
Later that day I took another short skate at Springville with the kids.
At Springville tonight (1 hour session) I worked on a fs disaster that was never better than sketchy.
